I bought the chi 2 inch turbo flat iron for my daughter for Christmas. It worked incredible, the only problem is that six months later, it kept shuting off. As I read the other reviews I see so, so, so many people with the same problem. The straightner shorts out. I wiggled the cord right where the base meets the iron, that's where the problem is. I bent it over and used duck tape to hold it so it won't move. I just feel for the money you spend and the fact that this seems to be a very common problem, they should be able to fix it. Not to easy to get in touch with the warranty Service eithter!!

After 28 years of doing my own hair (I started doing it myself at 5), this is the first tool that has actually gotten my hair straight and kep the moisture out. Even after an hour of dance class, the only part affected was the middle of my head because of sweat. My ends were still straight. I touched up the roots and maintained the style. I've had the iron for less than a month, so I can't attest to how long it will hold up. So far, I am VERY pleased with this iron. My one recommendation is to use a comb while ironing each section. It made my ends much straighter."
